Excerpt: Background Summary: The Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) Number of requests Department of the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) maintains The task of reviewing data requests made to statewide crime statistics. This includes the UCR Department of the SLED was capturing data through the South Carolina completed to gain an improved Incident-Based Reporting System (SCIBRS). understanding of the types of criminal South Carolina was the first state to information most commonly requested.
