Mid-level Rehabilitation Workers (MLRW)ar e a cadre of personnel initiated in developing countries, particularly in areas where community based rehabilitation has been established. This cadre was developed in response to the need for a worker who is a generalist in rehabilitation, that is, one who can provide services for people with different types of disabilities, and one who fills the large gap in services between the community and the rehabilitation services at secondary or tertiary referral levels.
