Excerpt
We have been requested by Dr Howard to make the following corrections to his paper which appeared as ~~0/~a1/31o9f 25 October 1961: 1. Page 1, line 8 of text - delete the sentence beginning he mature ' ookinete ' . . . 1' and the subsequent sentence h he early oocyst,. . lor a period of 10-12 days and substitute he mature 'ookinete' in the shape of a 'vermiculet penetrates between the epithelial cells of the mosquito's stomach wall or 'rounds up' to form a spherical zygote. The zygote, in its vermicular or spherical form, proceeds from the internal border to the external border of the midgut wall where it comes to lie in a stationary position beneath the basal membrane. In this position, the zygote, nGw referred to as an 'oocyst', grows peripherically into the haemocele for a period of 10 to 12 days. 2.
