Excerpt
Excerpt: Opening Statement Of Hon. Jon Kyl, A U.S. Senator From The State Of Arizona: Chairman KYL, This hearing of the Senate Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology, and Homeland Security of the Senate Judiciary Committee will come to order. Let me announce at the beginning that Senator Feinstein is expected to be here momentarily, and hopefully we will have some other members of the Subcommittee as well. I think that most of the people here are aware that despite the best-laid plans, one can’t always plan and the hearing this morning in the Armed Services Committee on the events in Iraq recently has taken the TV crews and some of the other Senators who otherwise would have been joining us here. Therefore, it may deplete our ranks, but we will create a record which will be shared with all of the members of the full Committee, as well as the members of the Subcommittee.
